I met Tony Fitzpatrick through performance artist Brigid Murphy.
Tony is a Chicago Gem.
On a recent visit to his studio, I was so refreshed by his work. Something about the hands on meticulous work he does to create a piece so dense with information that it
makes you
follow down the details, which lead you into a world that you might not
have ever seen, but some how
you remember in your cells. What really
struck me this time was his poetry. He is doing a series on Chicago
called
"The Wonder: Portraits of a remembered city" volumes 1 & 2.
The art works are lined with poems so concise
and vivid.
Truly beautiful!
Some how Tony's work releases me from the digital rat race world,
and place
me in a time and place where I can think again.
